I Hope My PC Forgives Me
For the next five days, my Linux machine will sit somewhere between shutting down and starting up. I can only hope that the hard drives are not grinding away, destroying my precious data. Got any suggestions for a solid Socket A motherboard that accepts SDRAM? I think my board may have a problem.
Not sure if it’s an issue with the SB Live! and the 686B Southbridge, or the drivers written for Windows, or what.. Hrm.
But maybe this: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=13-127-142
I used hdparm to turn off drive sleeping. Looks like that may have solved my problem. At least, I haven’t noticed anything recently.
